Work has started on advancing the new steel piles into the foreshore area.  These four piles had to be cut in half in order to be advanced, due to the elevational difference between the elevation at the shore and the elevation of the lakebed.  The other half of the piles have been welded to the portion already advanced and the driving of the second piece of the piles is scheduled to begin Monday (June 27).   In addition to the piles on the shore, three test piles will be driven into the lakebed early next week to establish embedment depths for the remainder of the piles.

In addition to the above work, excavation in the area formally occupied by the gazebo structure and concrete formwork could be undertaken. North Mountain has placed rebar in strip footings so that concrete footings can be installed next week for the Ladybird display building. 22-06-10 - Exacavtion progress
