Jan 14, 2022:
Over the last week, the Public Works & Utilities Department has received a high volume of individual service requests, and does not currently have the capacity to address these service requests on a case by case basis. Individual service requests are being collected and grouped into geographic areas. The City will consider these individual requests in conjunction with clearing work already underway as our staff continue the clean up effort through next week.
The weather is anticipated to remain above zero though Friday night and into the weekend. Some flurries or mixed rain/snow is predicted for a brief period Saturday morning. The removal of windrows/piles in the downtown area was completed this morning before shifting focus back to clearing out alley accesses to prepare for the pick up of garbage and recycling next week. Crews will also be handling isolated trouble spots and working to expose catch basins for water drainage through today and into next week.
This weekend crews will focus on addressing additional precipitation and applying sand and salt around town.
In the latter half of next week (Jan 17 – 21st) , crews will focus on areas where parked cars are currently limiting the ability to remove snow. Sign boards will be placed in areas to notify residents that the City is intending to remove snow from that area and requesting residents move vehicles from these locations. Please watch for signs.
Thank you for your patience during these conditions. We appreciate all your support.
