Other than minor deficiencies, Kays Road Contracting Ltd has completed the installation of 2.2km of watermain, reaching substantial completion for the Selous Creek watermain extension project. The 1100 block of Hoover Street has been repaved and areas where the Hoover ROW was disturbed, have been hydro-seeded.
Hil-Tech Contracting Ltd. continues to make good progress within the confines of the Mountain Station reservoir fence line, successfully erecting a concrete valve control structure. The contractors do not foresee any further heavy equipment traffic, detours, nor traffic disruption, and remain on schedule to finish the project by Christmas. Hil-Tech will continue to maintain a work zone and site trailer at the reservoir through to completion.
The photo below shows the preparation of the concrete slab for the valve control structure. The three large diameter pipes extending through the slab are to convey water, whereas the dozens of smaller diameter conduits extending from the slab are for electrical and controls systems.

The photo below was taken within the control structure showing the placement of concrete for the floor slab.

The photo below shows the newly erected valve control structure showing the ready-mix truck line pumping truck supplying concrete to the floor finishers.

The last photo is of the 1100 block of Hoover Street, showing new pavement in the foreground and groomed, hydro-seeded ROW in the background. Surface restoration along the construction alignment is complete.
