Hall Street Project Update for the Week of June 4th – 8th, 2018

The City’s contractor (McNally) has been busy this week to connect a sanitary sewer service from 625 Front Street to the new sanitary sewer piping that was installed under the CP tracks. McNally has also been installing large concrete bases for the street lights. McNally indicated that he has been prepping for the installation of a large storm manhole structure this weekend. This manhole serves as the connection point for the next phase of the project work that will be undertaken by Marwest starting June 18th.

McNally has indicated that during the week of June 4th – 8th his crews will be working to get the road base prepped on the north side of the tracks and to get curb and gutter works installed. This work is being done so that paving activity can proceed in the week of June 11th.

The City and Marwest has met with MOTI (Transportation) to discuss the traffic management plan for the next phase of the work. Marwest is currently providing some additional technical details regarding lane widths and turning radiuses, in order to satisfy the requirements of MOTI. The City intends to set up another information session with stakeholders to discuss the traffic management plan, as soon as the requirements of MOTI have been satisfied.
