Nelson Youth Action Network

The Nelson Youth Action Network is a CBT grant-funded program that supports activities and diverse opportunities based on local youth priorities to engage youth to connect more and with our community. The NYAN also collaborates with organizations who work and interact with youth. An oversight committee formed by youth, council members and local youth workers support youth priorities and direct NYAN and programming.

The NYAN started at the Nelson and District Youth Centre in 2017. Since 2017 NYAN has been providing several experiences for youth. These experiences include; taking youth to regional conferences, subsidized workshops to increase employability, Supporting the LGBTQIA+ community with weekly meet-ups, provide young artists with the experience to create a mural for the annual Muralfest, archery tag, improv nights and much more!

If you would like to be part of a fantastic opportunity or learn more about what the NYAN has to offer, please connect with the NYAN Coordinator at nyan@nelson.ca or by phone 250-352-8121.

NYAN is made possible by the funding provided byCBT_logo_full_colour_web-e1387493201961

With regards to the current pandemic, COVID-19, all NYAN programming has been held online. Our larger groups will continue online but we are slowly integrating to host smaller in-person groups outdoors. The City of Nelson has put together a Safety Plan, review HERE, to ensure the safety of our community. We are currently updating all of our forms, which will be posted on the site soon. Any questions or concerns please contact NYAN Coordinator, Sam at nyan@nelson.ca. We are looking forward to seeing you!
