British Columbia Ambulance Services (BCAS) maintains a station in the city of Nelson, which serves the city and the outlying areas. BCAS operates under the authority of the Emergency Health Services Commission of the BC Ministry of Health.

Health Services

While there are many health services available in Nelson, most emergencies are best dealt with at Kootenay Lake District Hospital, which is operated by the Interior Health Authority (IHA). The hospital is located at 3 View Street.
